Modern circus performance “Suitcases” for the first time in Riga

 Upsala-Circus Troupe will perform the show “Suitcases” for the first time in Riga with two performances at 17.00 and 20.00 at VEF Vasarnīca, Ūnijas iela 8K1. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Biļešu serviss box office and online.

What experiences are packed in your suitcase? What journey has this suitcase taken you on? What will you leave inside, and what will you try to get rid of? Who will you and your suitcase meet along the way, and how will that encounter change your life? And the most important question: Is moving something tragic, or is it simply a step into a new life? Is moving necessary for personal growth, or is it just a part of life?

The performance “Suitcases” is a collection of short circus stories that emerged from a series of workshops.

Four performers will use circus genres — acrobatics, juggling, diabolo, and modern dance — to analyze the situations of the last two years and to ask themselves: “What will I find in my suitcase, and will it help me continue my journey in a new world, or will it leave me frozen in anticipation?

Tickets for the event are on pre-sale for EUR 30.00, EUR 28.50 for seniors and ISEC card holders, and EUR 27.00 for groups. Tickets are available in advance at the Biļešu serviss box office and online.

Upsala-Circus Troupe believes that it is important to talk to children about important things, so this show is suitable for both adults and children. The actors say: “We encourage younger children who are ready for loud and sudden sounds to attend. We recommend that children from 10 years of age and up attend, but leave it to parents to decide whether a younger child can also attend.”
